Addressing the practical legal needs of people struggling with poverty and oppression in the Denver metro area.

Founded in 2006, JAMLAC is a non-profit law firm that provides a safe and confidential resource for victims of daily hardship and cruelty. Full-time attorneys, paralegals, interns, and volunteers provide civil legal services to over 4,000 indigent clients per year, 86% of whom are victims of domestic abuse.
Did you know that:
-
In the United States, 60% of women in poverty are involved in abusive relationships.
-
The need for legal aid is great. The number of non-profit attorneys has been cut in half over the past two decades, while the number of impoverished people needing services has increased by almost 75%.
-
95% of people served by JAMLAC report feeling safer, more informed about their rights, and better positioned to build a stable life as a result.
-
JAMLAC has grown! This year, JAMLAC is celebrating 20 years of seeking justice, and purchased an office building and now has 27 staff members.
